Terms of Use
Last updated: August 2026
1. What ClearEEG is
ClearEEG is an educational tool for practising EEG interpretation. It presents de-identified recordings from publicly released research corpora and asks you to interpret them.
2. What ClearEEG is not
ClearEEG is not a medical device. It is not certified under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR) or any equivalent regulation. It must not be used to interpret EEGs for clinical decisions about real patients.
No output of ClearEEG — including AI-generated feedback — constitutes medical advice. The tool is designed for learning; clinical decisions must always rely on qualified professional judgement and certified instruments.
3. Intended audience
ClearEEG is intended for medical professionals, residents, EEG technicians, and students in the health sciences. It is not directed at anyone under 18.
4. Your responsibilities
- Do not upload EEG recordings, reports, or any material belonging to identifiable patients.
- Do not use ClearEEG to make clinical decisions about real patients.
- Keep your account credentials secure.
- Use the service lawfully and respectfully.
5. Intellectual property
The EEG recordings used in exercises come from publicly released research corpora and are used under the terms of their respective licences. The ClearEEG platform, its code, and its original content are the intellectual property of Vincenzo Laterza.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
ClearEEG is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the educational content is free of inaccuracies.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Vincenzo Laterza shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of ClearEEG.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be notified to registered users by email.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by Italian law. Any dispute shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy.
